15+ years in education and serving the autistic community
Hello, and welcome to Bridgeway Foundation.
This charitable organization is a culmination of years of work in autistic communities that have left me questioning, "Where are the resources?" While I have worked for schools and organizations that met some needs, my personality always made me want more. Public, private, home-based schools, and private in-home therapy still weren't meeting the needs of non-vocal and low-vocal learners. I started Bridgeway Foundation on a dream that we have enough great people in our community who want what's best for all. As a community within a community, autistic people in Hampton Roads need all of our voices to help build a better world for us all. I have seen first hand how autistic people bring innovation, compassion, humor, and love to those around them. We must work together to ensure that their place in our community is nurtured and protected. Lend your voice to help our community to be the best for all.
